Karan is an experienced dentist with a practice limited to Oral Surgery and Dental Implantology.
After graduating in 2002 he undertook postgraduate training in various Oral Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial surgery departments both in the community and hospital settings. He has accumulated extensive experience in Oral Surgery carrying out complex treatments under with a special interest in /treating medically compromised cases. Typically, he performs 400 to 500 Minor Oral Surgery cases with IV sedation and close to a thousand cases under local anaesthetic per year. These vary from the relatively straightforward to very difficult cases.
Karan has extensive teaching experience and is a member of the faculty for the Dental Implantology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Masters programmes at the University of Manchester. He also conducts Oral Surgery and Conscious Sedation lectures for the Dental Foundation Training programme run by the Health Education England. He is a keen educator and is in the process of studying for a diploma in Medical Education from the University of Manchester and a Fellowship of Higher Education Academy.
Apart from his hospital and academic roles, he currently works across the Greater Manchester region in primary care based Minor Oral Surgery services receiving referral for extractions, wisdom tooth surgery, root end surgery and biopsies. He also has a flourishing peripatetic Dental Implantology practice. He mentors younger colleagues who wish to learn more complex surgical techniques such as bone block grafting and sinus lift procedures.
Karan has a calm and friendly chairside manner which helps him strike a rapport with his patients quickly. This generally helps with anxious patients who are about to have difficult Oral Surgery procedures. Combined with his years of experience, accumulated knowledge and excellent surgical technique, patients can be rest assured that they will have the best possible care afforded to them.
